Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Untaxed app and website use, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.

1. Who is responsible

The controller for Untaxed is VOIMA gmbh, Eggweg 9a, 8810 Horgen, Switzerland (UID CHE-115.593.199).

2. Information we use

Untaxed does not require an account. To provide the app and website, we use:

  • a random reference for your copy of the app, your language, device type, and the details needed to answer a request;
  • tax details you choose to enter, such as municipality, tax year, age, household and marital details, religion, income, wealth, deductions, and partner details;
  • your estimates and calculation history, connected to that app reference;
  • the purchase and subscription details needed to confirm Premium access;
  • privacy-minimized analytics from published versions of the app and website, such as pages or screens viewed, controls used, app version, operating system, browser, device category and a pseudonymous analytics identifier, but only when analytics is enabled;
  • the email address you enter for a roadmap vote, used to send the confirmation link and then replaced with a protected reference that helps prevent duplicate votes; and
  • information needed to keep Untaxed safe and reliable, such as request times, errors, and network address.

Analytics never include tax inputs or results, municipality or search text, email address, app installation reference, purchase details, or anything you type freely. Religion is used only when needed to estimate church tax; it is treated as sensitive and is excluded from analytics.

Your language choice and app reference are also kept on your device. After you confirm a roadmap vote, your browser may remember that confirmation so you can vote for another feature without repeating the email step.

3. Why we use the information

  • to calculate and compare estimated Swiss taxes;
  • to show your calculation history;
  • to validate, restore, and administer Premium access;
  • to confirm and count roadmap votes without requiring an account;
  • to operate, protect, troubleshoot, and improve Untaxed; and
  • to prevent misuse and meet legal obligations.

4. Legal grounds

Under Swiss data-protection law, we process data fairly, proportionately and for the purposes described here. Where the GDPR applies, we rely on performance of our agreement for requested calculations and Premium access, consent for optional analytics, legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving Untaxed. You may withdraw consent at any time for future processing.

5. Service providers and disclosures

Amazon Web Services hosts the API, database and transactional email in its Zurich region. OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare help host, deliver and protect the website; Cloudflare Turnstile is used only when the vote security check is enabled. Google provides optional Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics. Apple and Google operate their app stores and share the purchase and subscription information needed to provide Premium access. These providers process data under their own terms and our service-provider arrangements, as applicable.

We may share information when required by law, to protect users or Untaxed, or as part of a company transaction. We do not sell personal data and do not use app data for third-party advertising.

6. How long we keep information

Calculation history is deleted after 24 months. Operational request logs are deleted after 90 days. Optional analytics events are retained for up to 14 months. Roadmap confirmation links expire after 30 minutes; the plain email address is not stored after the message is sent, and confirmed pseudonymous votes are deleted after 24 months. Subscription and purchase evidence is kept while access is active and afterwards only as needed for restoration, disputes, fraud prevention or legal accounting duties, which may require up to 10 years. Deletion from active systems may take up to 30 days, and encrypted backups expire on their normal rotation. Information stored on your device remains until you clear it or remove the app.

7. Security and international transfers

We use encrypted connections, restricted access, separation of analytics from tax inputs, short-lived vote links and other safeguards suited to the information we handle. No service can be completely secure. Providers may process data in Switzerland, the EEA and the United States. Where a destination is not recognized as providing adequate protection, we use recognized contractual safeguards and supplementary measures where required.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, withdraw consent, or receive a copy of your personal data. You can change analytics and delete calculation history in Settings. Email us to exercise another right or request deletion of other records connected with your app installation; because Untaxed has no account, we may ask for the random installation reference shown in the app.

You may also complain to the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner or your local data-protection authority.

9. Children

Untaxed is intended for adults managing tax and financial information. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Untaxed or legal requirements change. We will give reasonable advance notice of material changes where practical. Version 1.1 clarifies providers, optional analytics, sensitive tax inputs, international transfers and concrete retention periods. The current version and effective date remain available at this address.
